I have a flashed drive that had the disk read error and would not play any games or dvds.
So I bought a new drive. I thought I would be able to switch the PCB boards and the new drive would work. It did not work.
I cannot flash the new drive because I do not have the original.bin
I tried hooking the old drive up and using Jungle Flasher to find out what my DVD key is, but I cannot get Jungle Flasher to recognize that it is connected to the RAID. I have tried installing Port IO32, but am receiving an error message everytime I try to install it.
All I want to do is make the new drive work with the xbox so i can play authentic 360 games. I do not care to make it play backups or anything like that.
Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated
Ok I got PortIO32 Installed. Jungle Flasher started to freeze up, but I deleted those system files. Now Jungle Flasher works, but it recognizes hard drive, dvd drive, except for the xbox dvd drive hooked up to the VIA
I had that same problem with a ms28 drive, I thought hummm it is seeing the drives connected on board and not the samsung from xbox. I decided to hook it up on board and it worked.
I dont know if it is because I still had the via card in the comp or not but my onboard ich8 worked at that point.
So try hooking your samsung to the onboard sata and give it another go.

just buy the via PCI card and be done with it. dump your key from your old drive, save the key, hook up your new drive and flash it.

I'm using a VIA PCI chipset. Thats what seems to be the problem. But if I can't get Jungle Flasher to recognize the drive hooked up through the chipset. If I can't get that to work is there another program I can just that I can just dump the key?
OK i got jungle flasher to work and everything worked fine. I spoofed the new drive with the old drive key and then i clicked on write, write went fine but the new drive still tries to read disks, but then says open tray
