I had a genuine Wiikey 2 premod from one of their reputable sites for a bit over 6 months, when my Wii gave out on me. It would not read any discs, and was blinking blue lights, along with a ticking sound. The modded DVD Drive was replaced with a stock Drive, then shipped back to Nintendo to fix. It came back with the problem being "replaced disc drive mechanism."

I am going to put back the modded DVD Drive now professionally, with the Wiikey 2 modchip. The only thing I used a few weeks before this happened was the USB Gecko OS, for cheats, via the homebrew channel. Is this alright to do on a hard modded Wii? I just don't want the same problem to happen again, as I don't know why my Wii gave out in the first place. Could that have been the cause? Any help/feedback would be much appreciated.
