Hi,

I am trying to go online with my wii. I have a 3 wireless modem and have just bought a wii lan adaptor, but everything I try fails to get me on the net. Any help would be most appreciated, as I'm going crazy trying to get it to work.

The Nintendo web sight has a guide to follow but why did you buy a adaptor? The Wii has a 802.11b WiFi card built in. You said 3 wireless modems. Are they modems or rougher's? Post the Make and model if your not sure. If they are rougher then pick one. then fist thing I would do is get a PC to connect the Internet first after confirming that works go to the Wii. What you will want to do to make thing a bit essayer and again confirm you can get to the net with the Wii is to be sure the Router is BRODCASTING the SSID this is the name of the Access Point. Good chance it is a default of "Linksys" if it is a Linksys system. Also if you are not sure on how to get the security keys disable WEP, WPA, or what ever type of security is enabled. you may what to turn this back on latter though. Disable gust to get things started.
After the above follow this Video http://us.wii.com/connect/ this video has you click along with it and also shows you where to place the Pass key if your using security other wise there should be a selection station no security. when done notice it will want to perform an upgrade. If you are here at this web sight you may want to skip this for now.

Ow and the Land adaptor needs to be WIRED.

Thank you for getting back to me. Much appreciated!
I have a "Three" HSDPA mobile broadband product that uses the Huawei E220 usb modem. I bought the LAN adaptor as I thought it would be the only way to link my laptop and my wii. I tried a manual setup, but I am a bit puzzled by it, as my ip address would be static as it is a mobile modem.

Any help would be great and if you need any more info, please let me know.

Thank you for all your help.

I would try buying a crossover cable. Try to see if that will work for you.

Thanks, I have it linked up to a crossover cable, but it still doesn't work. I was thinking would it be possible to set my laptop up as a wifi point?

Your positive it is a crossover cable?

Did you make a bridge between both networks?

Yeah, I'm sure it is a crossover cable, but I am stuck at how to bridge between both networks properly

Make sure the Wii is connected to the Laptop and make sure the Wii is on.

On your Laptop go to network settings and highlight both network connections in the list and then right click and choose bridge connections.

Only my original network appears...

Thanks for your patience, but only my internet network appears,, my laptop does not seem to be picking up my wii.

It may help you to know that it's a mobile usb modem I am using, and I have my wii connected through a usb to a wii lan adaptor which is connected to a crossover cable that is plugged into my laptop.

Thanks again for your help and patience

Do you have it softmodded?

If so try placing the Lan Adapter in the left side USB slot (left side slot when you look at the USB slots).

You also might want to make sure that WiiConnect 24 is on.
