Hello everyone im new and just needed some help.

I have 6 dvd drives. 5 samsungs and not sure on the other. I have tryed them on numerous xbox 360's and whenever i put a game in it says please insert into an xbox 360 console. I dont know the history of the drives and im using an original xbox game not a copy.

Any ideas anyone if so a step by step guide would be greatly appreciated.,

You can't put a drive into a XBOX 360 and expect it to work. The DVDkey must be obtained from the original DVD drive and flashed to the drive you want to use.

you need to give a lot more information. is this a stock 360, did you try to flash it? Did you get the key? You need to tell us more.

If your original DVD drive was a Samsung, swap the PCB boards.

I have not tryed doing anything to them apart from plug them into a few different xboxes to see if they work thats all. will flashing them solve the issue?

I purchased six xboxes all with rrod i fixed all the rrod but none of the drives work all say insert disc into xbox console sorry but thats all the info i can give as i did not get an history about them. I have no original etc just these 6 drives that wont work.

Have you mixed up your drives as you cant swap round drives in a 360 as they are "paired" or "married". If you have it will read DVD's and not games. Try and find which drive went with which console

I have tryed every drive with every console and no joy so i assume none are original am i stuffed then lol

Basically, yeah. You now have 6 new DVD players though ;).

Maybe if/when homebrew becomes available on the 360, you might be able to turn them back in to gaming consoles.
