when using friidump 0.3.0... after typing in friidump -d d:a
it starts initializing dvd drive then it says no output file for dumping specified, please take a look at the -i, -r and -a options.

can someone tell me please how do i make an output file with the command prompt. thanks in advance.

1. Friidump 0.4 is the latest version

2. friidump without any arguments will give you the command syntax.

I use friidump -a -d <source drive letter>
unless there are wierd characters in the name, then I specify an output filename.

For some games the file name doesn't translate correctly and this might be your problem.

Still, the file should have the extension .iso and should be in .iso format.

If it is an .iso, imgburn should recognize it when you open it.

What was the size of the file?

My first guess would be bad burn or low quality media.

That being said, my backup of SSBB is burned to a Ritek DVD+R DL. (not the best but not the worst)

Secondly, there are differing opinions on whether or not a manual layer break setting is required. It's been so long ago I can't remember whether I set on or let it default. The SSBB thread in this forum has more details.

Thirdly, what mod method are you using? Hardmod or softmod?

Fourthly, have you tried any other backups successfully? SSBB is typically the most troublesome and probably not the One that you want to start with to validate your backup and burning environment.
