LU39 Wiis will not let you do complete mods

I have had 2 LU39 Wiis(The new ones) and they will let you get the homebrew channel and maybe a backup loader or NoeGamma on it but it won't read backups and you can't downgrade isos 35 or get anything to run through the disk channel. Cioscorps messes it up. I have tried almost every guide out there and on this site and I still can't get a successful mod. If someone has the answer to this problem it would be greatly appreciated. You can only restore you nand so many times before you want to chuck the white box out the window. This guide got me the farthest( http://hackjunkies.com/wordpress/2009/08/softmod-wii-with-4-1u-firmware/ ) but the NeoG shows dvd error 1101.

how sure are you that it's not the disk is having problem? You have the HBC already so can you install WAD's? did you successfully install Neogamma? whay Cios version did you load?
To run the game used the neogamma not the wii disk channel.

There have been a few that have followed my guide that have had this issue. As I recall they all had LU39 serial systems. As far as a solution to the issue I haven't heard of 1 yet. Wish I could help more.

Its cool Larry you have helped me enough but keep me posted. fiber- I am running cIOS38 r14 with NeoG 7(installed fine) and I get an dvd 1101 error in Neo. I can't run disks through the disk channel because that install won't work. I can install wad's but any other guides screw it up. The disks run fine on my modded LU64 Wii, they are Memorex DVD-R burned with imgburn at 16x.

The Master of Wii mod(Larrylje) already responded. Seems common on the version of your Wii. So, sorry can not help also..

lol, problem with it is its a LU39 also.. I couldnt get it modded, then I used DOP-IOSv7 and changed 249 to use 60 (was stoned :\ ) and screwed up the whole thing.. no fix whatsoever..

The LU394+ have been reported to have the new drive , means that you have to use a USB port to run backups.Have you tried using the usb loader GX?

Intresting news.
Anyway I am in the middle of redoing the guide. The updated version will work on all systems & firmware (except for korean). But that is still good to know if others have the issue with the new guide.

I had exactly the same problem with LU39 as well - followed the guide (it was excellent as usual larryje!)and I get error 1101 when trying to use backups.
If anyone knows of a fix, please post link.

You can only use the USB loader as of right now to run backups. Nintendo got smart and put a new Laser in there that knows fake media.

I have a wii (not lu39) that doesnt seem to take the softmod as easily as others Ive done. It seems like the lu39 because it accepts the softmod fine but still wont play backupdisc using neogamme r7 r6 or 0.3 gator..Im thinking this one may have a drive similar to that but its an LU37. Ive followed several different softmod guides with all failing. No cioscorp installed, maybe that is my fix?? any thoughts??

Did anyone read the posts in this forum?? The LU39 Wiis have a new drive that DOES NOT read media/disks so the only way to do it is to use the USB loader. Please close this thread and rename it if possible to "If you have a LU39.. Wii, NO Backup Disks work"

You have do to a little research, does your backup really work on other system that are modded? what type of media your are using?

Try larrylje's 4.1 FIRMWARE WII SOFTMOD GUIDE! It is the best guide out there but just make sure you follow it to a T. Format your Wii do a nand clean and try again. Don't forget to do your Bootmii backup

Memorex DVD-R's($18 for 50 at walmart) burned at 16x in imgburn work fantastic. Never had one that didn't work on a properly modded Wii.

I have softmodded many wii's. This one is a Lu37 that works for backups only when upgraded to 4.0 with the softmod. BUT will strangley stop working after a few weeks and I need to reinstall the mod. This is the only one I am having trouble with.
I apologize for this post being in the wrong thread.
