Hi Guys

I recently paid for someone to chip or flash my xbox 360 so i could play download games.

The guy was quiet secrative and wouldnt let me know to much about what he has done, altough i am sure he had done it i would like to be able to check this.

Anyone know the easiest way to find out what he done the the Xbox 360

Wave 3 is just the .iso added with a new update. The new update is the NXE (New Xbox Experience). So if you have the old Xbox dashboard then this update will change it to the NXE.

The old iXtreme was not compatible with this change so you will need to update your iXtreme to the latest which is 1.6 in order to play the newest games after and during March.

arghh......... ok

i am getting it slowly.

I have the new view and not the old view so assume its NXE

I then assume the IXTREME is basically the level of firmware you are using and 1.6 being the very latest.

is there an easy way on the xbox screen to check this info, like there is when updating firmware on say a PSP.

I know all about PSPs but this is new to me so you guys rock with your help. it rare you get something for nothing, top chaps

Just a side note: We will probably be looking at a Wave 4 here sometime here soon because of the August 12th update. When Microsoft released NXE, it was about 4 months after NXE when they started putting it on games. I'm guessing around November/December we should be seeing a new "Wave 4". At that point, time to flash back IX 1.51 to my drives until a new IX is released.

No you cannot check which iXtreme you have on the 360 itself. You will have to take the 360 apart and connect the DVD drive to your PC. Then check the firmware with Jungleflasher.

Or you can just pop in a Wave 3 game. If it works then you are fine.

So all games that come out now are wave 3 games. So if i am playing Batman which i am then i should have the latest software and will notice it needs upgrading when the first games says needs XBOX update and not Game Update. Game Updates are OK to do arent they? Just never update the 360 through to proper routes. probably at that time better to give back to the bloke that done it and get him to update then.

As long as it is ok for Call of Duty World Modern Warfare 2 and PES 10 ill be a happy man :-)

Game updates are fine. The only way the firmware can be changed on the drive is if you do it.
