I've been using my good old CRT TV and stuck with 640X480 resolution for a long time, so I never experience 360 games in high definition but I'm gonna order a 28' monitor with 1900X1200 soon so I wanna get a HDMI cable to go with it. I saw this official Microsoft HDMI for 360 for about $50, or can I just get the cheap ones for like $10? Does the Microsoft HDMI cable offers the best quality for the 360? Or does the cheap ones work as great?

Some people swear by the expensive cables but I have never noticed a difference between the expensive and cheap ones.
From CNET
Quote: In almost all usage situations, less-expensive HDMI and DVI cables should offer nearly identical performance compared to expensive name brands. The exceptions are long runs--say, more than 10 feet--where high-quality cables often work better, although often you'll need some sort of extender for these situations anyway.

its doesn't matter at all. It pretty much comes down to durability and warrenties, but the quality will be the same.

Ok, what about component videos? It already comes with my 360 and do you guys think I should be better off buying a HDMI cable? Which delivers better video quality, Component or HDMI?

hell, I suppose I'll notice a humongous difference from switching from composite video cable/19' CRT TV 640X480 to HDMI/28' LCD Monitor 1900X1200
I already have trouble reading small texts on many of the 360 games already, I guess I must switch to meet today's standards.
Can anyone tell me which is a better deal on monitor?

I suggest you go with a good brand, it does make a diferent from standar HDMI, You will notice the diferences if you got a good HDTV, If you got the cash for MONSTER BRAND, 4ft should cost you about $80 dollars, I got the (MONSTER CABLE THX 900 HDMI) BEST BUY have them, I have now perfect picture, go for it, you'll thank me later.
