Hi Guys,

Got a Maximus USB xtractor back in May and done probably 10-15 Drives using it (all types not just lite-ons) but yesterday the eject button just stopped working.

It still powers on and mode-b seems to work, just not eject, which is a pain when upgrading an pre-flashed drive.

Emailed the shop I got it from and they said either F1 or F2 has blown and I need to replace the fuse, thing is I thought the fuses only blew if it was plugged in upside down. I know for a fact I didn't do this as the Molex cable is constantly left in the xtractor, nor was it plugged into the drive upside down (because you cannot get the SATA cable in if it was!).

Any ideas? If it does sound like the fuses, how easy are these to swap? Is it a solderles swap?

Cheers Topper.

xbox 360 flashing "enthusiast".

I'm no expert on electronics so correct me if I'm wrong anyone. But I reckon you could put a multimeter to the fuses and test the ampage.

Took this from ezinearticles:

Quote:
Testing Fuses

Turn the power off and remove the fuse from the circuit to check with a multimeter set to the lowest ohms range. Connect the probes to both end of the fuse. You may check the fuse while it still in circuit. A good fuse should showed continuity or read 0 ohm. A blown fuse is open which reads infinity on the meter.
Hope this helps.

Try searching, its fun.
