Hey there... I'm somewhat new to this and was just curious if someone could give me a list of good Newsgroups or sites where I can look at maybe downloading a game or two. Thanks.

http://www.newzbin.com/ is a decent indexing site for newsgroups, you will need a newsgroup account with someone line easynews or astraweb. Some ISP's offer a free newsgroup account with your subscription, so you may want to ask them before you subscribe.

I am now using edited by ddp, It will only cost you $24.99 a month, you will find I would say 80% of 360 games, and new games usually they will have them 4-5 days before lunched date on new releases, they have wii games, psp, xbox, music, movies, hell even xxx movies, and on the + side is easy to use, very simple, just type what you looking for and download,not like some of this newsgroup sites, which I found difficult to set up.
I am happy with this site, If you have high speed internet you should download 2-3 games in a day easy, it takes me 2 1/2 hr per game, don't go on those torrent sites to find "free games" most of them have viruses, spyware It's not worth the risk. on the 2 months of my subscription with itchycats I have download about 75 xbox 360 games, movies and other things, now $24.99 it's worth it, hell yeah!!

Wow, you're paying way too much.
I get the same access as you, same completion percentage, atleast 5 times the retention, and for $11 bucks.
I would definitely shop around because you're getting ripped off.

I've always used torrent sites, if i download a game. I guess then that I shouldn't as no one seems to be recommending these.
Do any of these sites require a invite? If this cannot be talked about on here, does anyone mind PMing me?

I would never use torrents anymore. Newsgroups are safer, much faster, and typically have atleast as much content as torrents, if not more.
I'd definitely recommend newsgroups.

I have 50MB Cable and it takes around 20 mins to download a game and another 20 mins to repair & unpack. Even on a standards 8MB line, shouldnt take longer than a couple of hours.

edited by ddp is a great site, but edited by ddp is also a good one too. edited by ddp is the one I use the most (when I have newsgroups...)!

edited by ddp is a great site, but edited by ddp is also a good one too. edited by ddp is the one I use the most (when I have newsgroups...)!
Yeah, I'm using edited by ddp. I found a link where they have specials such as the $11 bucks a month vs $15. I know not a huge difference, but it adds up. I've used them and giganews, and really can't tell the difference as it always maxes out my line. So I'll go with the cheaper one.
You donate the money to edited by ddp to get past the 20 day retention of the edited by ddp?

Yeah I donated to edited by ddp to get passed the 20 nzbs. It's nice, cause I just put in my newsgroup info, and it will actually mark the ones that are out of my retention. But again, I'm broke so I can't afford Newsgroups at the moment.
And yeah I would get the $11/month special for edited by ddp. To get the deal, just go to edited by ddp and it will have the special ad on the page. For now I just stick with private trackers...

I've used my real email for edited by ddp. Don't know what people are worried about? I mean if people want to use a fake email, go right ahead.

I wonder if you can answer a few questions then.
Why do people choose a paid for site over a free site like edited by ddp? and what are the benifits over torrents?

What do you mean by paid sites over free sites? edited by ddp is free, but if you donate you get more benfits. The same goes with edited by ddp.
The positives of using Newsgroups over torrents, and probably the biggest is having seeds isn't an issue with newsgroups. As long as it's available in your retention amount, you will get a steady connection while downloading, where as with torrents, you need to have seeds to download.
