Is it possible to play XBOX 360 games directly from HDD?

Is it possible somehow copy ISO file and mount it within XBOX and play game this way (like you do on PC). I assume no but just in case it's possible would want to ask this.
I have latest Ixtreme mod.

Yes you still need the disc inside. Currently there is no way to just have the data on the HDD to play. Still you get all the benefits of an HDD install such as better frame rate, faster loading times, no texture pop-ins, etc.

If you load the game to the hdd with the original disc... can you play the game FROM the hdd with a burned copy of the disc???

Oops I worded it wrong. What I meant was that your 360 will need to be modded in order to play the backups- even if you install the game onto the HDD with an original disc.
