I followed the new sticky. I got everything installed and i can't get backups to boot. I tried dvd-r and dvd+r. I tried neo gamma and wiibackup loader. I will pay someone to help me figure this out. We can use skype or an im program whatever. I just want to use backups. i don't care about anything else.

Are you using cheap media?

Have you tried booting from a USB stick?

i have tried two different types of memorex which are both +R. and i am trying a tdk -r. if this don't work, when normal stores are open tomorrow i will buy verbatim.

as for the serial starts with LU102. i bought it the night wii was released

You should use DVD-R media. You could always try to booktype the Memosux DVD+R media to DVD-ROM this may help.

Go HERE for a guide on how to booktype the media with IMGBurn.

Ok. i finally got it to the point where wii recognizes the disk. but when i click start it says

an error has occured. press the eject button remove the game disc and turn the power off and read the manual.

Any idea why this would happen? using TDK dvd-R disc burnt at 4x

Are you using NeoGamma or the normal disc channel?

Try using NeoGamma R6. What game are you trying to play?

I'm still betting on the media. Your symptoms are "classic" substandard media.

Neither Memorex or TDK would be at the top of my list. Using an 8GB memory stick might differentiate loader problems vs. media problems, but not everyone has one of those just "lying around".

Yea its a shame i was dumb today and bough a 4gb... i do have external harddrives though not sure if that can do anything

Who softmoded the system?

Did you install CIOSCORPS on it?

If not then it will not load from the disc channel.

Try to install NeoGamma R6 and see if the backup will load then.

I originally followed your guide but the backup loaders weren't working.... so i asked for help and someone offered. he sent me a wad that reset my system to 4.0 and said thats all i needed. it was a 23mb file

i got it working through neogamma loader... but since he had me downgrade to 4.0 i can't play wii sports resorts...is there anyway to fix this? should i update the system to 4.1?

Well i got 3 games running, and the only one not running is wii sports resort. So it seems like my issues are 95% resolved. Going to try larry's update guide when i get home in a few hours maybe it'll work

Make sure WiiSportsResort has #002 error enabled and you might need to use the Alt-Dol method to Boot it. Do some searching on this stuff. It has all been answered already.
