Compgran, mgb1921 - Guys, Welcome to our forum :-)

Guess what fellows, there are Newbies, newer than you who haven?t had a single burn - you can help them -

(and mgb1921, it?s DVD Decrypter NOT Encrypter) Ya gotta love the new guys, they?re working hard - and they?ll be good pretty soon -

mgb1921,

Having a little trouble are we ?? Well Listen up. ?Uncle? ScubaPete?s going to help ya out -

Ya want just the movie, listen up -

Go into DVD Shrink, click ?Open disc?.
When it gets done click ?Re-Author?.
When the new screen opens I want you to click and drag JUST the main movie from the right side of the page to the left side - Just the main movie only, PLEASE -

Now click ?Backup? and continue as before -

That?s it guys, that?s all :D)

Peace,

Pete

tried Nero (demo) liked it and ordered it. What is the difference between express and classic? IT seems that express window pops up, then you have to click "burn" with express. Don't know how it works exactly, but managed to fumble my way through it and burn my first movie. Used and ISO file. Tried the "video-TS" saving, and couldn't get it from there. ISO seems to work just fine. Any thoughts/suggestions?

mia33,
I have not tried to burn dvd video by image ISO which is made from DVD Shrink. However, I think whenever you have ISO file, it doesnt matter you use express or classic. ISO image is still the same.
If you are about to burn from video_TS folder which was create by DVD Shrink in "harddisc folder option", you should use "nero burning ROM" classic, and choose "DVD-video" to create new compilation as instruction in the guide.

I have just tried my last option test on DVD Shrink. And supprisely, the result was exceptional good. Barely to see those blurr, no big pixels, no dots. It can NOT compare to 1clickDVDcopy but GOOD. I keep all the OPTION, MENUS, EXTRA identical to previous backup. From here, if we leave out those un-need subtances, the quality must be more better.

Think back all the settings which includes all hardwares:

P3 450Mhz, all in wonder 8500dv, window xp driver
the only different is the setting in "preferences" of
dvd shrink.

+ In "preferences": SHOULD CHECK MARK to "Run analysis and backup....."
+ In "Preview": SHOULD CHOOSE "system default renderer" (I chose my software renderer since I have all in wonder hardware accelerate)
+ In "File I/O": SHOULD UNCHECK MARK "enable overlapped....."

Actually all these come as "default" when you install DVD Shrink. So my conclusion is: YOU DONT HAVE TO MESS WITH THEM

Enjoy the freeeeee software :) good luck to all

all in wonder card is my choice

Pete, I just noticed that on page 5 you say:

The Ritek RiDATA 04 is part of the - "I really shouldn't have purchased that." group.

I have been recommended Ritek Ridata on here.

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/83347

Is there different types of Ridata or have I picked you up wrong.

lavabuild I am in the U.K & I for one can vouch for the purple RiDisc (Ritek G04) X4 DVD-Rs.

If Pete spoke ill of them , then I'm sure it would have been due to the fact that they don't work well for his NEC1300a DVD Writer.
That's all !

But you yourself have a Pioneer 107 , which will burn these discs lovely & without errors (as long as you dont mess up - lol)

Thanks Herbsman & Rhumcafe,

I burnt my first disc with RiData a few days ago and it worked perfectly. These media names are a bit confusing to begin with, Ridata, Ridisc, I take it that both of these discs are made by Ritek and that they would be of high quality. I think i'll do a bit of browsing on the media forum, but in the meantime I am happy with the Ridata :)

Thanks again,
Lb.

hi

scubapete or anyone else. I am returning my beall's to meritline. If I buy ritek go4's (-r) from meritline which ones should I get. shiny, matte or branded. I assume these are the good Riteks most people like? Also cant understand why 100 beall's cost $99 and 100 ritek go4's cost $69. both are rated 4x and are -r cakeboxes with free s/h.

lastly, I can get verbatim +r's at sam's club right down the street for $59.95 +tax for 50 cakebox. I borrowed 2 of these from a friend and noticed that when I use this media imgtool will let me burn at 8x (i use plextor 708). anyway when i do an info media on these with dvdinfopro the media code/manufacturer id says MCC 002. no where does it say verbatim except on the dvd face. any info would be appreciated so I can burn in heaven not hell and know that my dvds will last for years to come without the dye getting messed up. regards...

If it says Verbatim on the disc face it is a branded Verbatim and you should be golden. I buy from meritline and have never been disappointed, buy the branded Ritek G-04

Hey there lavabuild,

Nice catch there my friend, That line should have read Ritek DataSafe, NOT RiDATA . My bad.

(Old ScubaPete, old, brain fade shows :-(

To help you get even more corn-fuzzled, Ritek makes OVER 50% of the world's retail DVD discs and they range from some of the worst to some of the best (or at least some of the better discs).
It does make one wonder - some of the better discs being a bit cheaper that the costly poor ones -
OR was it some of the expensive poor being opposed to the inexpensive better ones - OR - (Gonna quit before I lose what few gray cells I have left -

Anyway thanks for the note, the corrections have been made :P)

hi:

just spoke to asian "expert" at Meritline. He says that BeAll dvds are the same quality as the ritek go4's. He also suggests Verbatim for backing up video. So there you have it. More salsa in the mix. The moderator says that bealls are cheap but most people in the reviews of bealls at meritline really like them alot. think I'll just buy the verbatim +r's at sams club...cant get hurt...regards

Sometimes there's a big difference between them that does and them that reads da books. We'll stick with our opinion of BeAlls.

I remember working in a computer store part-time many years ago - The stuff I thought I knew didn't help at all when I got my first PC (lol, it wasn't a pretty sight let me tell you -)

PennRon: I'm sorry I haven't been following this thread since I think I can be of some assistance regarding the Sam's Club Verbatims. I forgot to order my Riteks last time I needed some and decided to buy one of the spindles from Sam's Club. Besides being branded (otherwise I wouldn't have touched them) I can tell you they used Ritek R03 dye, which if I'm not mistaken is newer than the G04. Don't take that as gospel (about how new not about what dye) because I'm no media expert. I normally just buy the good Riteks and don't worry about it.

THANKS PETE AND VERBAL. ok can I assume that the verbatims I get at sams club are the same you are getting? 50 cakebox for $60 and they are +r's. they say dvd+r in upper left corner, verbatim in upper right corner and RW in bottom middle. above that there are lines for writing. they are silver matte finish. lastly you say you buy the "GOOD RITEKS". are those the go4 -r's at meritline branded 100 for $69????

lastly lastly, what do you think about getting ritek go4's with the white label and getting a printer that prints directly to a dvd (epson, canon etc) for labeling purposes. I know the perils of stickon labels...regards...

hi all,
Last xmas, I bought 600 Beall dvd-r's (silver blank top/ purple bottom) from meritline.com and brouht back to my country. My cousin used more than 300 on pioneer A06 (disc juggler for burning) and Pana DMR E80 without a coaster yet.
We are making custom wedding dvd disc, and customers like it because of being able to play back in their dvd player.
Now i want to try on ritek G04 cheaper price and also printable

Those Bealls are now 15% off discount at meritline but not shipping free as the time I bought.

Maybe I better get 50 of Bealls and 50 of Riteks both white inkjet printable.

Someone just posted a problem with drying ink on Beall printable !!! What is your printer? and is that a refill ink? I gonna try on epson R200. I will let you know

all in wonder card is my choice
