To Scuba Pete
I have downloaded Nero 6.0 Ultra from website you recommended. It is a 30 day trial.

You said If I liked it you would tell me how to hook it up for $10.00.

I like it so tell me how to hook it up.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,

You had better re-read that post. I never said I could get Nero 6 for $10.00, that doesn?t even make sense. I did say I could hook you up with Nero 5.5, the version prior to the one you just used for the trial. All you have to do is ?Google? for Nero 5.5 and you?ll find a ton of companies who will sell you the s/n for it for around $10.00 or $11.00, that?s all you need to activate it legally.

If you wish to purchase Nero 6.3, you can go to Ahead?s (Nero?s producers) web site and pay $69.99 (downloadable) OR you can go here - http://eagletronics.com/ and get the full Nero 6 Ultra Edition (this is the one you were using) for $49.99 - the best deal on the Internet. For the $49.99 you are getting the ?in the box with physical CD? version, saving $20.00 off the mfg. sug. Retail price.

Nero 5.5 will work with DVD Shrink the same as the Nero 6 did, it just doesn?t have as many B&W as Nero 6.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi all
I'm new to all this so I was under the assumption that xp will allow files over 4gb. But when I load up decrypter an alert pops up and says that my drive doesn't accept files over 4gb. Does anyone know a hack I might be able to use or some other way to get around this. Thank you for your help.

my hd is set up as a fat32. Is that a conflict? And is there anyway around it? Any way of changing that with formatting my entire hard drive?

Thanks for information about Nero 6.0 Ultra.

I have it now but the help function does not work. I thought if I could get it real cheap then I would delete my program and hook up the trial vs as it should have the help functions in it.

Guess I'll just use the one I have without the help and order a book to help me use it.

To TMcCallie: You can go to Nero homepage and then to guides and download every guide you need for whatever program you're running. Stick em all in one folder and presto, easy access. Also, I bought Nero 5 for 10.00, might as well have used it to light a cigar. Then I went and bought Ultra 6, world of difference. Best price I've seen -49.00 Happy blazing, bigorange

HI Everyone,
Here's what I'm doing, and I am getting a movie onto the disc that works - it's just that I'm not doing it by following the instructions for Nero. When I open the disc with shrink, I can tick the extras file, but I can't delete anything in this file (if I want to) - only the subpicture and languages on the right side. How do I get rid of things completely, should I run into needing to do that? AND - I save the movie as an ISO Image, then burn as a Disc Image - I don't know - and don't see where the Audio_TS and Video_TS come into play. IS the method that I'm using totally wrong - is it ok to do it this way, or will I run into problems later - and what IS the correct way? Thanks!!

Hi mia33, once you have the disc or files loaded you need to click on the reauthor button to be able to delete extras - you simply drag what parts of the movie you want over to the DVD Structure side of the dialog box. When you are happy with the contents of the DVD Structure then you click on back-up and progress as usual.

Hey Mia, When in Shrink re-author first adding only the files you want (you can preview each one with the slider) then if the movie is still too large you can re-encode and compress. Then when you go to Nero depending what you want, for a straight burn go to express where you FORGET about the AUDIO_TS and load all files (vob and the rest) in your VIDEO_TS folder and burn. The great thing about Nero is you can load the entire folder instead of one file at a time, at a time , at a time, etc. If you want to author the video go to nerovision express 2(it is fairly simple as authoring programs go although sometimes a bit squirrely) and go from there. Hope this helps. Good luck, bigorange

Just a thought. If you want to get Nero 6 for cheap, try watching sales at places like OfficeMax, CompUSA, Circuit City & Best Buy. This will probably only apply in the U.S. If you can get a CD-RW drive for about $30 USD it just might come with Nero 6. Maybe about the same with DVD-+RW drives that can be bought for about $70 USD these days. Of course you may have to wait for the rebate(s) to be able to realize that price. The only disadvantage is that that version of Nero will only work with that specific drive. Updates can be a little tricky also. Not insurmountable tho. Ya just have to know how to find your registration code for that copy of Nero.

I would like to thank all of you, especially Scuba Pete for excelent directions to use Shrink and Decrypter. It has cleared lot of my misconceptions. I am using both Nero Recordo2/DVD43 and DVD Shrink/DVD43/Decrypter combinations. In my case Nero Recordo2/DVD34 combination is fast and almost 99.9% success.Shrink/DVD43/Decrypter/or Nero combination is slower and few case with unable to read file/copy protection error message.
In this thread and elsewhere also,Verbatim media is better but so far,in only one failure for me with Nero Recordo2-Media was verbatim.Immediately after that failure, Nero Recordo2 was able to burn successfully the same movie on cheap media.

Thank again

"I have a DVD+RW drive", you are tyring to burn the wrong format. You need a +R format disc not -R. Sell the rest of your -R's to a friend and buy yourself some +R's and try again then you should be good. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the tips, you guys. Will give it a try with the next one - and let you know how it goes.
Also, for the Nero question. I bought a copy of Nero (did not have to go through process of getting a code for the downloadable version). It was only $9.00 at clickcooldeals.com

mia33,

That $9.00 DEAL you got was a Nero 5 Bundled package - a full Nero 5.5 package is only $10.00.

When you get a Bundled Pack, you get bits and pieces of a few things - The Full Nero 5 pack is the complete Nero package with the ability to upgrade to Nero 6 for $49.99. I you wish to upgrade to the new Nero from your pack, you'll only pay $69.99. Huuuummm, I got to think that through - -

Anyway, the option is http://eagletronics.com/ where you can get Nero 6 for $49.95.

You might want to keep this last link mia33 so if you want the Nero 6 at sometime you won't have burnt too badly -

cheers,

Pete
