HDTV cord on SDTV??

Hey guys, just wondering if you could answer this...
I just bought a wii, but it came with HDTV cords *used*
I only have an SDTV, and wanted to know if there was a way to get it working, even if it means modding the cord
I've looked on google, and even on here, but haven't found anything
I'd like to see if it's working properly tonight, so I don't want to buy a cable yet

The Wii comes standard with a COMPOSITE video cable.

3 RCA connectors

yellow=composite video
red = stereo right
white = stereo left

Your SDTV may be able to accept this input IF it has an RCA connector for composite signal input and one or two RCA connectors for audio input.

There is also a PROGRESSIVE SCAN (not HDTV) cable that has 5 connectors. Your SDTV definitely CANNOT accept this input.

If your SDTV cannot accept a composite signal (i.e. no RCA jacks), you can try one of 2 things:

1)RF modulator to convert composite to RF and play over channel 3 or 4

2)Run the Wii through a VCR using the composite in and play using the RF output on channel 3 or 4.

3)Buy a new HDTV or SDTV that can accept a composite video input.

lol, The Wii I bought was used, and it came with HDTV cords, the green blue and red ones, I was just wondering if anyone had a quick trick to use, But I've already went and bought some AV cords, the red, white, and yellow ones, but thanks anyways

There is no "quick trick". there is no way that you can use progressive scan cables with an SDTV. get the right cable.
