Theres probably an easy explanation to this but i dont know it. I've just converted a movie from XviD to Mpeg-2 using TMPGEnc Plus 2.5. This plays fine but when i try to multiplex it to MPEG-1 Video-CD (non-standard) the result is just green. I recently did this to another movie that was originally SVCD and it worked fine. I've got a feeling it could be to do with my codecs. I use the Nimo Codec pack (v5.0), DivX 5.0 and an XviD codec (i had to remove the nimo codecs for the initial conversion cos they clashed with the xvid codecs). I have tried many combinations and methods but they all produce the same green video, however the audio still works.

if any1 has any ideas plz cud u attempt to help cos im at a complete loss :S

thx in advance :D

i have now uninstalled all codecs and installed FFDShow. However, i still get the same result, a green block. If i burn this file to a disk any chance my VCD player will read it? Is there something about XviD i dont know that makes it different to all the others i've never had probs with?

any1 have any idea at all??? i have given up now as i've tried everything i can think of....

Don"t use the "Multiplex" to add the Header to the File because this causes Buffer Underflows which can ruin the Playback of the File...If you want to add a VCD Header to the Mpeg2 file load it into the "Merge & Cut" and select "Video-CD NON-Standard" from the Dropdown menu and choose an output name and click "Run" and it will make a new File but with a VCD Header and it should Play back fine....Cheers

Well then Try Burning the SVCD File as a VCD File and when Nero says it is Not VCD compliant Just Burn it anyways and see if that works, but that Is all I can think of....good Luck
