Frustrated.

Sorry but I feel thick!

I have spent 3 hours now trying to get .wad games to work and have followed tons of guides but no luck.

I have the homebrew channel setup now (eventually) but now I want to play some games that I have (wad).

Does any one have a idiots guide for a six fingered hand person who feels stupid :P.

I have firmware 4.1 and I have now cleared my SD card so its free.

What should I do next to install wads. I know I need a wad installer but I have now about 3 but I cannot get them to work.

Please help me out.

I recently soft modded a friends wii and needed to download 3.3v3 update recovery He was on version 3.4e though so not sure if this will work for you but give it a shot.I used wad manager 1.4, installed cios16 then used that as my ios to install the cios249 (ios249 lets you then install wads.)(wiiware games)If you want to use a usb loader for external hdd you will need cios249rev9 or up. Latest is rev14 as far as I know. Good luck

Follow the 4.1 FIRMWARE SOFTMOD guide that I have linked in my sig.

If you don't want to use backup Wii games then skip the NeoGamma part of the guide.

After you have done all the steps the System should then be able to install WAD files. Just place the wad files in the WAD folder on the root then use Homebrew Channel to launch WAD Manager to install.
