Xbox 360 Back ups not working in console..

Hey Guys,
First post here on afterdawn, but long time reader. :)
I've been trying for the last two days to make some back ups of my xbox 360 games. So far i've made 5 coasters! And im really annoyed, and am not sure what Im doing wrong.
Okay, so I have a flashed 360 with the lastest iXtreme software. I'm using Verbatim DVD-R-DL Discs, (which might be the problem? should I be using DVD+R+DL discs?) And Im using imgburn & an LG GH22NP20 with the newest drivers to create my back ups, which are burning perfectly, and the 360 picks up that there in the console, but tells me to take the disc out and clean it..
Ive set the book type and layerbreak in Imgburn. When I hit the write button, it tells me that the its unable to set the layer break.. (not really sure what this means?)
So if someone could tell me what Im doing wrong, it would be very much appreciated!

There's a perfect guide in the sticky. I've never needed to set the booktype.

Are you stealth patching them with abgx360? The new firmwares won't even play a game that isn't stealth patched. Alot of your games won't verify against the abgx library if you are ripping them yourself, but obviously, you know it's a good rip, so everything should be alright. The important part is having it stealth patched.
Oh, and about the layer break, if you don't get a verification from abgx, you may have to set your own layer break in imgburn. Set the layer break to 1913760 and let us know what you come up with.

You nailed it right on the head you cant use DVD-R DL discs They NEED to be DVD+R DL discs

Thanks Guys, I was pretty sure thats what the problem was. I'll get some DVD+R+DL tommorrow and see how I go.
I did the stealth patch.. and everything was green. I also set the layerbreak in imgburn, and it was still giving me that "cannot set layer break" pop up.
Anyway, i'll do another burn tomorrow and let you guys know how i go.
Hopefully this might help someone else with the same problem!

haha, DVD-R DL. I didn't notice that either. I should probably try reading a little slower. That's the culprit here. DVD-R DL standard doesn't allow you to change the layerbreak position. You should be good to go with some DVD+R DL verbs. Good Luck!

I got that too when I tried a minusR-DL just for kicks. Once you use a plusR-DL, all should be good, seeing as to how you have the process down correctly.
Post your results with the new plusR-DL discs.

Success! Well.. kind of anyway.
I found some older TDK DVD+R DL I had laying around, and tried burning with one of them.. and it worked! Perfectly.. Even worked on xbox live.
So, all is good! =)

Oh, I've just read that some people have had troubles playing burnt games on live. But I guess as long as you have a good rip of the game, there shouldn't be any problems.

Okay, I've hit another snag! I am now trying to burn a copy of Batman A/A, which I have ripped through wxripper.
I know this is a wave 3 game, and I have the newest version of ixtreme.
I've done the ppf-o-matic update to the iso, the DVD burns perfect (using another TDK DVD & imgburn), but when I put it in the console it does nothing.
Any one able to help out on this one? thanks!

ppfomatic is your problem. if you have iextreme 1.6 you dont want that. its only useful for those people that are to lazy to update to 1.6 to play wave 3 games. 1.6 wont allow that jerry rigged ISO to play.

Hello to all, I figured I would bump this post one more time. I have ran into different problems burning games for my xbox360. I have been doing this a while and I use a share ware program and then unpack the files and then abgx360 check verify, then burn with img burn.
I have some games that work and just a couple that don't, I have burned them f3 times and every time same prob. I have the same problem if I down load that certain game from other websites.I have the latest firmware1.6 benq, and the disk will play but then an error message will pop up and tell me my disk is dirty or to shut the console off then on.
Like I said all layer breaks are the same and I get green all thru abgx. I am lost... any one have some info?

I love how you bump the thread and are completely oblivious as to how people already solved this problem before from the OP. I would advice you take notes as to how the problem was fixed hence you will learn to make your own copies. As well as go read guides already on this forum how to make burned copies. Search is your friend..

I have tried everything from reading all post's connected to this problem on top of re flashing multiple times as well as trying other disk brands and Skate 2 & Star Wars still does it. I figured I would have some luck here instead of viewed as not being thorough enough.
