So,
I'm pretty new to Wii modding and I gots a decent understanding of Wads,Home Brew Channel, and playing my backs up (thanks Larrylje)
My questions now are about ripping images of my games. So Far I have ripped Super Mario Galaxy with sucess, ATM im ripping Metroid prime 3 and Smash brothers failed at about 85%. The only method I have tried so far was to use Iso Dumper over Wifi. and it seems pretty slow. I hear Single Layer Games take about 2.5 hours. Well right now Metroid prime 3 is at 65% and its been running for almost 3 hours and it still says 2hours to go. It has jump back and forth between 2 to 3 hours the whole time. Are any of the other methods any faster? ISO Dumper and an SD card? I have a 2gig sd card so that would be like 3 trips and a few extra steps but is it faster? I was thinking of getting a External HD and connect it to the Wii to dump images. Or should I got out and try to get my hands on a DVD rom that will read Wii titles? BTW are those LG drives still the only ones that read the disc?
Any Info would be great thanks a ton.
Matt

fastest way are lg disk readers which take about 1 hour max sometimes 20 to 30 minutes. Wii dump takes long as well as dumping to sd etc.

I have heard about Superdump, which supposedly can dump in 30 min.

However, after using WBFS Manager and seeing how much "real" code there is in some of those games, I would need to see what the times are for myself.

Heres the pro and cons of each:

LG Drive
---------

cons - you have to buy and install an LG drive so people think its a waste of money just to dump roms.

Pros - Using raw dump, you can dump a game in full as an Iso to anywhere on your computer and you can choose the speed at which your drive dumps. Dumps take around 20 - 40 minutes a game and longer if its dual layered like smash bros brawl or Metroid prime 3 trilogy. Also dumps exact so no errors when burning.

Super dump
------------------
cons - dumps in parts. After dumping you would have to concat the isos together before burning. Some dumps gives errors. Must have homebrew installed. Dumping relies on your disk reader on the wii which can shorten its life.

Pros
------------------
Probably the fastest wii dumping method so far. Dumps games ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour long. Can dump to usb/ usb2 / sd card/ or computer.

files needed superdump.dol / ncConcat / dotnetfx 3 in 1

use whatever you like i use 3 methods. Just more information for those who dont know much.

Thanks!
I didnt know about the extra software needed for Superdump.
I think I actually might have one of those LG drives in a box in my attic I have to find it.

Another option is to use a USB Loader.

Dump the game to an SD/USB WBFS formated device.

Then use WBFS Manager (application for computer) to extract the IOS from the SD/USB WBFS formated device.

This could be the fastest since the USB Loader will only dump game data only to the SD/USB WBFS formated device. The rest of the garbage data will be left out.

It only takes a minute or two to extract the file from the SD/USB WBFS formated device using WBFS Manger and it will put the junk data back into the IOS making it full sized again.

I like this option best. I can rip all the game quick and at once. Then return to the PC, Pull all the ISO's at once, and then burn baby burn.
