Hi there im only new to the xbox mod scene i have sucesfuly flashed my samsung drive with Ixtreme 1.6 now i was trying to make a backup using my drive as i dont have a keron drive or what ever it is. I have looked around but all the info i can find dosent seam to help at all letalone make mch sence. Can someone please help me out or at least point me in the right direction Thanks for any help :)

You will need to eject your drive, disconnect the power from it. Push the tray half way in and give the drive power again. That will put your drive into 0800 mode which will allow you to rip games.

Hi there thanks for your reply I have Done what you said and connected the xbox to the computer sata powered on the drive ejected the drive Pulled the power from the drive pushed it half in and powerd up the drive Making the green light on the xbox flash The problem is That I cant find the drive on windows Also after the drive is in 0800 mode do push eject to let me pt the disk in or do i just slide the disk in when its half open and push it the rest of the way in Sorry if thet sounds dumb I just couldent get it to show up in windows

What type of SATA chipset are you using?

Once you have got the drive in 0800 mode you can go ahead and close the tray. The 360 will continue to flash because it is in 0800 and will stay that way until rebooted.

Ok so i can close it with eject sweet And from what i can tell i have a via tech VT8237 chipset i used the same chipset to flash the drive what could i be doing wrong ?

Did you go to device manager in control panel and scan for new hardware?

Hi there thanks for the reply Yeah i have tryed to scan for new hardware dosent do anything for me aye :( I have a question once the drive is in 0800 mode after i put a disk in and press eject should the light on the xbox remain flashing ? As everytime i get it flashing after trying the try half open thing and then close the drive it stops flashing Man i realy want to get this working I can get my drive to show in JF i used the same computer and chipset to flash the drive so i dont see what i could be doing wrong just wish i could get it to read the drive so i can make some backups :( Im amost tempted to make a video so soeone can tell me what im doing wrong Is there some sort of driver i can download ??? Fu*K ITs DOING MY HEAD IN

I just backed up a game using ixtreme 1.6 and i pushed the tray in half way, powered the xbox on with the on button and scanned for hardware changes (my light stopped flashing) and it showed up as TSSTcorp DVD-ROM TS-H943A, then I used backup creator and then ran the resulting iso through abgx and it autofixed it (always run games through the LATEST abgx and also use the latest backup creator).

Ok ill try that and see what happens im sure i have tryed it tho I just flashed The full 0800 firmware and tryed that so i didnt have ta do the half try open thing and still no luck with that man im gona cry :(

OK so after a few hours messing around surfing the net and asking questions i had almost gave up but I Started the xbox so Jf could see it Then I opend the drive Pulld the power out pushd it half in turnd the xbox off Then put the power back in The drive and startd the xbox i could still see the drive in JF so i started xbc and it was there ripping Juiced 2 now so i hope it all works Ill rund it thru abgx and see the results thanks for any help you gave me Peace

Sometimes different firmware and methods work for different people, it looks like your computer just wasn't detecting the drive but hopefully the backup worked and you're sorted.
