I bought box super jtag which came without instructions there is a 25 pin connection on it and red wired single wired clip any help to fit this would be greatly appreciated

you have the wrong jtag for that unit as it dont come with a red wire clip its just a push on connector.
i am going to send you a private message where you can get all the info you need to get your box sorted so check it out in a few mins ok

I have a jtag cable for the box super USB and it has a 4 pin push-on connector. Sounds like the one you have is for the box/super. Could you tell me where you got it as I also need a jtag cable for the box super myself.

There is no fix for the box super as there is no tsop for that box sorry

if its the 8882 on screen it can be fixed with a jtag kit ,if there arent any lights on front of box it cant be fixed,if you in ireland the channels are going down slowly all being moved up to nigr* 3 not much point in fixing it

did you try a reflash of your box
there is no tsop for the starview super never one made.

You shouldn't need to jtag it (as mentioned above by e45) as you should be able to just re-flash it. Try starting the flash programming from your chosen GTROM-Super V??.exe when the '----' lines first appear on the front panel LEDs at switch-on. i.e. Get GTROM-Super V??.exe ready, switch on the box at the rear then wait until the 2nd or 3rd '-' appears before hitting the download button.
If you can see the logo then the boot rom should still be ok inside the flash. This allows you to recover the box because at startup the internal boot rom code gets executed when you see the '----' lines scroll across the front panel LEDs. At this point the serial comms is enabled for talking with your PC.
If all else fails then, yes, the jtag should recover it for you.
I've now found my tsop files but would need to test them in a box first to be sure they're intact.

tried to reflash with no success, the box displays boot then ld80 although i do not see the ---- screen, can you please supply link to tsop and flash guide as i have an old jtag used for the dvb set tops

OK, sorry my mistake. TheBoxSuper doesn't display the '----' dashes across the LEDs (that was only the earlier models), instead it shows the word 'boot'.
Follow the flashing instructions above but start the GTRom download when you see 'boot' appear on the LEDs.
The jtag method should only be used as a last resort. I've now created & tested an fta tsop file and it works fine. I haven't added a link where you can download it, but I'll create one if & when it's needed. If mods etc want a copy to post a link instead then just let me know. I don't have a 'how-to' guide but I'm sure one exists on here somewhere. I think you'll probably find it in Eamos downloads, together with the jkeys jtag software (as used for the original Starviews). I don't know what jtag kit you've got so can't advise the connections as mine is home-made.

You don't need one. Click on the link and choose the 'free user' button. Sometimes the downloads can be busy & it asks you to try again in a few minutes.

Funny i just downloaded it with no problem and im not a premium user
if you cant even get the file how the heck are ya going to jtag the unit as this is going to be 10 times harder for ya.

As mentioned above you don't need to be a premium user, but that site does limit the free user download availability during peak times. If you read carefully what's on screen when you click the 'free user' button it will tell you this. Just wait a while until it's quieter
