I have not updated in a while, because I have not backed anything up or gotten any new games in a while. I want to get Punchout, but I know I need an update considering I am on like 3.4 or something like that. The problem is, I have a Mac, and the stickies are super PC specific. I have no idea how to do padding or filechopping, and the link for the prepadded and filechopped 1.9s update and 1.4 config are busted. (need US)
Does anybody have a link to prepadded/filechopped 1.9s and 1.4 Wiikey files, or can they tell me how to pad and filechop (be detailed) on a Mac (OS X 10.5.8)?

okay two things, the first, 3.4 can still play Punch Out, as long as you have all the most recent IOS files installed, BUT I was also skeptical like you, on a mac and afraid to update, there are new procedures that are still fine with being on 4.1

I'm not sure about 1.4 but I found 1,9s

First off, thanks very much for the reply, but none of those files downloaded are padded or filechopped.
Are there programs/instructions for how to pad and filechop the images on a Mac?
If I do update my Wiikey to 1.9s, will I lose any functionality (with the Wiikey or Homebrew channel) if I do get updated to 4.1 or whatever is the most current file system?

Thanks

you won't lose any, actually I'm honestly surprised you haven't updated your Wiikey to 1.9s, wasn't it needed for Mario Galaxy? (I forget)

but honestly, I've been through so many crazy forms with my wii (when I first received it, it was Japanese). I have windows installed on my Mac, so I'll admit I do have that help a little, but recently I find I almost never need windows, because so much is on the mac...

now, with 'padding' files, are you concerned with game updates? if so Wiijunkies works perfectly for me, even the most recent "the Beatles: Rockband" the file said there was an issue with size, but I just ignored that, and everything was completely fine with my burn (the only thing is, you still have to instal the newest IOS56.....

Ummm, I don't know if that helped, but as a mac user, if you have any questions, I'm willing to do my best :)

I have Super Mario Galaxy (I only use the retail disc for this one since I just played straight through it, didn't back it up) and Super Smash Bros Brawl, but have not updated the Wiikey or Wii since then. I may very well have the most up to date stuff for the Wiikey, it was just so long ago I assumed that something new had changed.
As far as the padded files go, I just mean making the iso 1.35GB or whatever it needs for the Wii to recognize it as a readable disc. I was under the impression that if only 37MB or so of space is actually used on the disc, the Wii would just spit it right back out.

ummm, after being unzipped, decompressed or whatever, when you go to make any iso, the game file should be exactly 4.38GB... even if it's 1.3gigs or 250mb compressed, when you burn the iso, it should be 4.38gb

I believe gamecube games are around 1.35gb but not wii

Now there are three exceptions wii game wise, Smash Brothers, Metroid, and a Japanese game which escapes my mind, all of which are dual layered (which are a little more difficult to burn, and as with Metroid, I'm not sure if anyone has successfully burned the iso so that it works in entirety, from my understanding, anyone who's burned it is only capable of player Metroid Prime 1 and 2, not 3 however 3 has it's own disk already released, so....

aside from 1.9s, just look for the newer IOS files which are needed (there have been a few, 1 with Animal crossing, the most recent with Guitar Hero 5/rockband beatles... and I want to say one more between)... but after that, I'm sure you should be fine...

The 1.9s file needs to be 1.35GB (it gets read in Gamecube mode or something, thats why), I just checked the sticky. So I need to pad/filechop the 38.6MB wiikey 1.9s iso up to 1.35GB if I want to actually update. Do you know of a Mac friendly program that will let me pad/filechop the file up to 1.35GB?

OHHHHHHHHHHHH

okay, now I feel like a real goof.... sorry about that....

Okay, that I'm on a similar page, honestly, just take the file as is and burn a DVD in Disk Utilities (I know, it's alot of wasted space)... I actually surprisingly still have mine, but I never did anything to pad them. I have a padding program, but that is completely windows (but the only thing I've ever used that for was gamecube iso files...)

I checked my Wiikey, and it is presently at 1.9g with the 1.3 config disc used. I still have no way of updating since I don't have a way to pad the iso to 1.35GB. I really want to update since it has been a while. Is there any way to have a file sent to me or something?

I absolutely scoured the internet and finally found the 1.9s boot/update disc padded, but could not find the latest config disc. I noticed that the zip file for the 1.9s boot was only 1.7MB before extracting but extracted to 1.35GB and worked perfectly. Can anybody just make and zip of the latest Wiikey config and email or PM it to me or something?

You can get a padded USA 1.4 config version HERE. You will probably need to register to see the download link.

Thats the website where I found the padded boot disc, but the config is 1.9s and is not padded. Thanks for the input, though.
