I have a 3.3u NTSCWii with a d2PRO chip installed. It is running the HBC, which was installed via the Twilight Hack.
Anyway, I've decided to get a usb hard drive to load my games on. I haven't yet received the hard drive I ordered, but I thought I would at least get the programs up and running so once I get it, I can format it, plug it in, and start the process.
I followed a guide I found on the web that seemed pretty thorough. I installed the rev14 CIOS, placed USB Loader GX and Cover Flow on my SD card as described (changing both to boot.dol). However, once I go into the HBC to load them, neither program works. They appear on the apps list, but when I click on them, nothing happens. For instance, USB Loader GX goes to a black screen and the Wii locks up; and Cover Flow just reboots the HBC when I click on it. I then decided to install the WAD of the USB Loader. When I click on the channel, the initial load screen comes on, then a bunch of illegible jargon comes onto the screen (something about "dumps" etc.) and the wii locks up.
So, that's my problem. Do I need the hard drive hooked up BEFORE I can even run these programs? If not, what am I doing wrong?? Any input would be most appreciatied. I've scoured other forums to find people with a similar problem and I can't find anything. Thanks!!
