-Problem 1-
Hey, I have a 74850C Lite-On drive. I was flashing it when it froze during the Writing iXtreme step. Now my drive won't eject, or get recognized by any of my sata ports. I have seen a couple of threads on here about this problem but none of them have been able to solve my problem. So is my drive dead or is there something else I can do to try to get it back to life?

-Problem 1.5-
If my drive is dead, I have an extra BenQ drive sitting around, problem is it is not a new drive (I got it from a friend). I got the key from the drive just fine, but I am a little worried by what I got. Here is a picture of what I am worried about
Does this mean that my BenQ drive is already spoofed as another drive? and if it is then is there any way I can spoof my BenQ drive to work as my LiteOn drive? Sorry if this is confusing, but I am really confused right now

You don't need the key off of the benq for it to work in your lite-on box, you need the lite-on key and you need to spoof benq with the lite-on key and the benq ixtreme firmware. from that it does looked like the benq has already been spoof did his xbox play backups?
regardless i would save that firmware unless the mobo the drive came from is gone for good.
although i heard that the lite-on sends different messages back to M$ so idk if it will be as "stealthy" although this is just what i read from when the lite-on's first game out so i really am not sure.

as far as your original lite-on goes all may not be lost, i would try manually opening the tray (using the gear underneath) and the powering it up and trying to see if you can get it to recognize in windows that way. if that doesn't work try to push it closed while its powered up see if it automatically closes and try eject button then.

I have tried connecting it with the CK3 pro and opening it half way, but Jungle Flasher still doesn't read it

its not dead. it wont detect it due to having no FW on the drive currently. look around on the first page and there should be a couple of threads about lite-ons not detecting/ejecting after erasing the FW. leerage has stated in these on how to fix this issue. just follow what he says and you will be good to go.

if by some chance it doenst work, then you can always use dosflash to finish writing your firmware.

Agreed. that's what i always use, though when i run L-O-ERAS or whatever it is, it will not erase so i have to use the DOSflash command to erase it... but the important thing it to finish the job... good luck!

Connect the Lite-ON drive back to the original SATA port. Start up JF and make sure you have the corresponding I/O port selected. Re-send the Lite-ON erase and power cycle when prompted. You should get good flash chip properties.

Just curious, how did you get a DVDkey32 Extract (dummy.bin) spoofed as a 62430C BenQ?

Alright, I have tried all of this with no luck. My computer can see other drives just fine, but when this one is plugged in my computer doesn't even seem to realize it. Is there anything I can do to make my computer recognize the drive so I can put the firmware back on? I am open to use any program that can hopefully fix this.

and to answer your question, I didn't spoof it. I bought the xbox 360 and it was just like that when I got it

try it from booting from a usb stick. had to do this with a lite-on a little while ago as JF wouldnt detect it after i erased the FW, and it worked like a charm.

the following is quoted from a PM from leerage to me:

"download the make a bootable flash drive from my sig and it comes with the HP format tool and Boot files. run the hp format tool and make sure the format is set to FAT32 and tick the circle that says make bootable. then you have to navigate it to the boot files folder. format and it should copy over those files. then put dosflash v1.8 and your custom IX 1.6 bin onto the drive. Make sure you IX 1.6 is under like 8 characters cuz DOS doesn't like long names. boot to it and type dosflash.exe, it should recognize your lite-on by either MXIC or Winbond/NEX. select the corresponding number to it and type W for write and then type the name of IX 1.6 bin

hopefully that should get your drive going again"

anything that dsays download from my sig is referring to his sig.
