Ok so I decided to buy myself a psp 2000 series. Fresh out of the box and I want to get the lastest CFW out. Just wondering if anybody could recommend something to me. Also if you can, just link the tutorial.
Thnx!

Thnx Kittymatt, but since you brought up the Quote: just make sure you can hack it first
. I checked another site on whether it could be hacked or not (not sure if there was/is one on here) and seems like some of it pointed towards it being "not hackable". Could you confirm this site's info if it is true?

If there is such a thread on the forums plz link it so I could verify myself.
Thanks!

Have you got the PSP - if you have is the firmware 5.03 or below - if it is then use the guide - it loads the PSPident on to the unit and tells you what motherboard is present.
If you have not bought the psp yet then avoid a new one - most hackable ones have been bought by people in the know, the ones that are left are pretty much all unhackable.

:( Very unfortunate.. Seems like my PSP is less likely hackable comparing the info on the guide you linked.
Behind the batt the code is HU2-- and on the box the serial no. is labeled AB02-- and came with OFW 4.01. Well thnx for the help kittymat. I'll just have to wait for a full hack to be available. Problem is I just got it today...! Q_Q

If you are on 4.01 then all is not lost.
Chickhen and custom firmware enabler = CFW, no not installed but in flash, so as long as you don't switch off its still there.
Go to the link I gave you - instal 5.03 officia firmware, use the installer (put your card into the computer and it adds all the programs) start chickhen, load pspident = You will know 100% what you have.
If you have a v3 then use the cfw enabler 3.51 (think thats the latest) to put 5.00m33-6 into flash.

I didn't see where you confirmed that you followed the steps the kittymat suggested. Use PSPident as he suggests and then tell us what version you motherboard you have. AFter that, lets talk.

Ok so I went to the first link that Kittymat gave me, followed the instructions and got ChickHen R2 as my current FW, ran PSPident and found out to be a v3. I then ran HC Recovery flash and the closest to 3.51 was 3.71 went down to the next option "Install M33 CFW" and did its thing but there were errors. Does that mean I'm S.O.L?
Edit: Uh-oh.. I don't know whats going on but after posting the message above I went ahead and loaded the ChickHen FW and went str8 into HC Recovery flasher. Targeted 5.00, went down to "Install M33 CFW" and it said everything is ok and started installing, it then shutdown and I turned it back on and the screen is blank but the power button is on. Is it bricked?

Hi, itz me again... how unfortunate huh? Well, I've got a question this time that's some how relevant to the topic so that is why I posted this.
Anyhow, I'm interested in the Gen-D2 and I was wondering if it is possible to achieve with a TA-088v3 mobo (psp2000). I currently have 5.03MHU from the CFWEnabler 3.60 but I want to be able to play Tekken 6. If I can be helped, please point me at the right direction.
My apologies if this question is "irrelevant" to the topic.
