So ive tried everything possible to flash my Samsung MS25 but it isnt being read by Jungleflasher, iprep, Mtkflash, or DosFlash. I got my SATA card in today, excited i plugged it in, installed the drivers which i later found out i need to delete and uninstall which i did then attempted to reinstall and uninstall multiple times through out the day according to each process i found, ive spent prolly 16 hours on this, im tech savvy and i know what im doing in each process, well so i think. ive narrowed it down to say that i think my SATA card isnt reading my drive correctly, yet i bought the card i was recommended to buy to flash my drive. i bought a VIA VT6421A.
which ive researched to work. that's my only confusion here. please help, thank you!

When I first flashed an MS25, my computer wouldn't recognise the drive in Windows either.

Just a quick question, have you installed PortIO32? JungleFlasher possibly won't be able to recognise your drive is connected if you haven't.

honestly after reading that so many people had trouble at first with recognizing the drive i figured "oh, I'll figure it out" but not after 16 hours, hah. yes i have it installed, as well as i have tried uninstalling it and re-installing it.

also all of these people have connectivity kits, and i dont is hat i problem? cause as far as i know i dont need one and i really dont wanna spend $50 bucks on one.

also this is just a theory but could i dual boot my pc to run Linux and plash it in Linux? is that even possible?

dude this is gonna sound retarded but ima go ahead and post it anyhow because i was in a similar situation just this past weekend and the solution for me was embarrassingly stupid. i thought that card (i bought the same one) had 2 SATA ports, one on the back on the outside of the computer, and another on the inside. Turns out there are 2 ports on the inside and the one i had to use was the one closest to the front of the computer. it actually faces the front of the computer and is on a different side of the card from the other interior port. once i stumbled upon it (i was taking the card out to try a different pci slot) i had my MS25 flashed in like 5 minutes.

haha well slaving over this over and over and over i have come to find out it was my SATA cord that came with my SATA card. i noticed the one in my xbox and the cord that came with the card was a bit different, i could see the copper contacts on the outside of my sxbox Sata card and couldnt on my just bought cord..so i decided to use that 2 inch xbox Sata Cord, turned my xbox upside down, sat it ontop of the opening of my PC and barley got it attached to the right SATA port...worked like a charm, booted up jungle flasher and it went PERFECT! thank you all for your advice!

Ok i saw MANY MANY pple with my exact problem, please mods remember this: if there is somone whos drive wont read and does notihng but freeze their computer give them the "bad cord" advice, please ive seen this on a BUNCH of forums, i dont want anyone else to suffer from this problem! thank you again!
