Hope i'm not being stupid. I sent a box (came originally with a HDD I believe) into MS which instead of repairing they replaced. I was thinking I was quids in here but when I checked over it, I noticed 2 things.
The first was the both consoles I have sent in recently both came back with a paper warranty sticker. Just so everyone knows.
The second was that the new box they sent has a MFR date of 2009 01 08 date, with no HDMI but the ampage is 16.5A. Isn't that a Xenon from pre 2008, to as old as 2005?

Yes 16.2 is Xenon/Zephyr (Zephyr has extended GPU). Are you checking the amperage on the newly printed label or the one above the power plug (I don't think they change those)?

Xenon is 16.2 Amps, but you can't always go by the sticker that's on the console case when you get one back from the repair centre. It might have an Opus board inside it, which is only used for repairs and is basically a Falcon board without HDMI.

Both. Both state 16.2. The problem is they have stated this is a brand new console, unless they mean by brand new, a brand new referb.
Just didn't think they would even be manufacturing the Xenon board anymore.

well if it was a brand new console it would have HDMI on it. so to me its a refurbed board, or a board that was never used and made just for the service department.

I would go ahead and open up the console and check out the inside. They give you a 90 day warranty?

No idea how to check regarding the warranty. I'm guessing a full 1 year from RROD. Gutted when I didn't see any HDMI slots, even more so when I saw what the board was. The fail rate on these are unbelieveable

log into your xbox.com account to see what the warranty is. also, it should have been on one of the papers that came with your fixed console.

Nothing on the sheet about warranty. Logged in and shown as
# Warranty Expiration: 1/13/2012 7:00:00 PM
That, however is shown as a standard warranty. A standard 3 year warranty!?

I called Microsoft support for this, just to find out for sure.
They stated that the console has been replaced with a referbishment not a brand new one. Also if this console continually fails, it will be replaced again with another like-for-like console.
I think this one will be sold. It has a 3 year warranty anyway.
