Homemade usb probe drivers + Hole probe Question

Hey guys. Just got a couple quick questions. I just bought a CK3 kit and a home made probe of ebay.
First off what drivers do i install for the usb probe so it will work properly with JF.
Secondly does the probe wire actually have to go inside the hole (depth of penitration) or does it just have to connect with the copper ( or whatever metal it is) around the edge of the hole, because if it actually has to penitrate it then i tihnk the wire they used for the probe is too thick...

just has to touch the copper contact, i used and modified Nokia DKU-2 data cable and installed the drivers off the Nokia CD and that worked a treat.

Worked it out last night, was easy, just thought it had to go into the hole.
