Repeat Return Xbox 360?

I thought this was weird. I bought a 360 of of ebay about a month and a half ago. when i got it, it had already had a proper x-clamp fix done to it, but he scratched the hell out of the mobo while doing it. I re-did the x-clamp fix and still got nothing. So, with nothing to lose i decided to see if he had registered it with M$, he hadn't! so i registered it, it said the warranty was expired, but i filed a 3 RROD claim online anyway. I got my coffin and sent it out. Now this was an extremely long shot and i knew it because i mean come on, it had the x-clamp fix done to it! So flash forward in time to today. I get the xbox back. fixed, and in the same case with a new sticker! it was very obvious that it had been opened in the back. but what confuses me, is they physically had to take that old board out, to put a new one in, and they didn't notice the x-clamp fix? Well i immediatlly took it apart (of course) and found something interesting. a white sticker with a sticky side on the back but not really stuck to anything, (it was just kind of sitting there) and it says "REPEAT RETURN" wtf? the console had never been registered? does anyone have any clue here as to whats going on, or am i just really damn lucky? this is only the second box i have ever sent to M$.

that is just odd. i have never seen that with any of the ones i've sent in. and i've sent in a lot. like 20+.

They're not expecting the customer to take the console apart which means under most circumstances they wouldn't see that sticker, so it's almost certainly there in case it gets sent in for repair again.

but you would have thought they would have stuck it to something. instead of just letting it float around in the box and getting stuck on a fan/heatsync, or anything else. pretty stupid on their part.

lol i am just boggled by the fact that they actually physically took out that old mobo with the x-clamp fix and still replaced it. maybe they felt bad?

Well, maybe the people who fix them are awesome, and they fix it anyway... after all it doesn't cost them anything.
With the repeat return sticker was it just floating around? Possibly these are put on all replacement mobo's as a label and are suppose to be taken off... that would explain why it is floating around (if it is). Also the mobo might have been fixed and then reused in your console. I think it has nothing to do with your console but the replacement mobo. I've sent one of mine in 5 times (soon to be six) and it doesn't have this sticker on it.

Surely that sticker is there just in case the console gets sent in again ie if you were to send that console back for repair in future then the sticker would be relevant to the person opening it up at that point. Just how i see it anyways..

can i just ask if the clamp fix was done then wouldn't the x box seal be broken? So why would this not get noticed?
Im just trying to figure out a few thing as i intend to send an ebay purchase to MS

Carefully lift the seal or replace it with another.
