i bought a 4gb hp v125w flash drive to backup my game saves so the kids wouldnt erase them and when i go to save ps3 says flash drive is locked....where do i go from here...confused

Your flash drive probably came with a lot of HP programs pre-installed on it. Put it in your PC first. HP probably wants you to set it up. I took my Sandisk Flash and just reformatted it. (Wiped it Clean)
You may need to format it to Fat32 anyway.

it works fine on my laptop just says locked on ps3....tried reformatting.... i am lost....and hp tech service sucks . wited on phone for 45 min for them to finally tell me they handle tech questions for flash drives by email....what a load of crap

and yes...i do know how to spell "waited" .spelling is not my downfall...proofreading is. ( also proper capitalization , excessive use of ... , and vodka )

clutching at straws but flash drives sometimes come with a little slider on them that locks it and prevents you copying stuff. is it in the locked position?

nothing physically locked...its a message i get when trying to use it on ps3... like i said on laptop it works fine
