I was hoping I could get some help from someone that knows a little bit about this. I recently bought the Xbox 360 Connectivity Kit V3 and USB Solderless Lite-on DVD Key Extractor Combo from the easymg.com so that I could aquire the key and flash my drive but I have not had much success extracting the key. I have tried using Xtractor Reader, Jungle Flasher, and Dos Flash to acquire the key, but I get a different error message each time with the different programs.

In dos flash it states it can't open the com port, in jungle flash it says the serial data is bad and in the Xtractor Reader program I get error sending ATA Identify.

I have read the tutorial and have the required software installed (PortIO32, & the drivers needed for the usb solderless lite on key extractor) but I can't seem to get what seems to be a relatively simple process to work.

Could I get some input in this please because I am not sure where to proceed from here.

Thank you in advance for any input.

In Jungle Flasher, when you have the USB key extractor connect, what COM ports does JF show and what are their status?

Also, what type of SATA chipset are you using?

It states as using Com Port 9, and the status is stated as being Ready.

As far as the chipset goes its the crosshair mobo that has the NVIDIA nForce 590 chipset. I don't know whether this makes a difference or not, but when you are attempting to do your key extraction/flashing process are the sata ports supposed to be empty with the exception of the port you use to flash? Reason I ask is because I have a raid 5 config with 3 hard drives installed.

In case you need to know this as well, the lite on 360 drive is recognized when it is plugged in through the motherboards sata ports.

That is a good sign since the Lite-ON is detected. Are there any other COM ports? Such as 3 or 4?

yes, there are two other com ports listed, although these are listed as Bluetooth Communication ports, which are listed as Com4 & Com5

Are you referring to COM ports that you can swap to or those that are showing up in the com & lpt section? if its what is listed under that location or even in the drop down menu in Jungle Flasher then that is all that is listed were the Bluetooth ports

Usually after you install the driver for the USB extractor, it is COM 3 or 4. I'm guessing since those are taken, it is probably 9 then.

ok, that being the case, com 9, and stated as ready being used and the drive being recognized this should work correct?

If this is the case is there something that I should be trying that may work, or should I just keep going through the tutorial until it finally works?

Next Question.....if there were something wrong with the drive or the extractor - would I be correct in the assumption that these would not recognize in Jungle Flasher or am I wrong in this? I'm not saying there is anything wrong with my drive or extractor, but I'm just curious as to this point.

On the connectivity kit that I have it has a mode button. What is the purpose of this mode button?
