Is it still better to not install it on your hard drive? Or did they set it up now so that I should? Thanks in advance.

Mine is on the HDD and it runs fine.

I think that it's the campaign levels that suffer performance when run from the HDD.

no. don't install it. do some google searching and you'll find it. odst disc 1 can be installed to the hd but not disc 2 (at the risk of performance anyway).
