K, I have NOT been able to find good topics or tutorials, here or other websites about these little questions, I seem to find the same hitachi to hitachi tutorial on lots of searches all over google.

For one, does the code you write to "spoof" a drive get overwritten if you flash to ixtreme? I.E can you replace a drive with a new brand AND ixtreme flash it?

two, if you replace a dvd-rom with the same model number do you have to spoof it?

and three, when I put a hitachi in mode b with slax, then boot to windows, windows CRAWLED and was so slow I couldn't get anything done nor run firmware tools.
