My 360 has been having some problems reading games lately. If i put in a game that is even slightly scratched it wont play the game, or it will start up the game then freeze. even with perfect games i have to open and close the drive a few times to get it to read the disc. I have a Benq drive that is not flashed. Although i am reading up on flashing it and probably will soon. I figured i should probably fix this problem before i flash the drive. Any ideas on what i should do? Do i need to replace the drive?

you might just need to replace the laser. That happens sometimes.

Shouldn't have to replace the whole drive unless there is an issue with it as well. If it is just reading, maybe look at getting a replacement laser.

Could i just use some dvd laser cleaning disc or should i take it apart and clean it somehow? and if so how should i clean it? Guess ill be taking it apart soon anyways to flash it.

No, don't use the cleaning disc. You will needing rubbing alcohol and a q-tip/cotton bud.
