DosFlash32 not seeing BenQ

My buddy purchased the Rosewill SATA PCI card and installed the card but when connecting a BenQ drive to the card and opening DosFlash32 it doesn't see the connected drive. Any idea of what is wrong? The PortI/O is installed and he is following the same steps I use on my PC but his is not working.
