Invalid Status 0x50 with Lite-On

I've searched through the posts but couldn't find one that had my exact situation.

I am trying to do my first Lite-On Flash. Using Jungle Flasher and the DVDKEY32 tab, it's able to find my drive on port 0xAC00 and I can repeatedly extract the drive key. I have the drive half closed.

Whenever I try moving on to the next step, using MTKFLASH32 to erase the drive, I get the error:

Getting Status from port 0xAC00
Invalid Status 0x50

Anyone experience this before or know what the cause is?

this happends to me all the time just keep trying to erase and make sure you are power cycling the drive durring the erase "...."

It's the VIA 6421. The brand is Rosewill. I disabled it in the device manager and then deleted the viamraid from the system folder, re-enabled, and re-started. But I get the same invalid status.

I also tried this: http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/iriez/N00B_LiteOn_Flash_with_VIA.pdf

which had a few more steps in removing the drivers. But, still the same error.

Leave the tray closed and click "Lite-ON erase". Click OK to the prompts and power cycle when prompted.

are you power cycling the drive during the erase??

Make sure you are click "Lite-ON erase", not the regular erase button.
