hi i would not buy any box right now as channels are going off by the day sports/movies/adult/disney and espn channels all gone on cable in cork(and the rest will be gone soon)at present there is no way to fix this and no box that will work to open the missing channels. i gave instructions as to how you hook up your laptop up to your tv further back on this thread and what is needed to do it,please read through all the posts to find the help you need and if you still have any questions after that just ask here on this thread.i sent you the pm with all the links i hope you enjoy them.by the way pms sent also to daffy122/gudede/caulay enjoy guys.

tvz32 silverlight is a microsoft program and so might be on your laptop allready but you can get it from microsoft via google or in most cases from the link that uses it(a link will have a software download option)if i gave you the links then check the ones using silverlight you will see a download option(if your still having trouble let me know).dinny i need you to check all your tv connections and also your laptop connections and let me know what you have on both and then i can advise you on the best way to go. but you need as modern a tv as possible(with as many connection ports as possible)let me know dinny and ill get back to you.pms sent to roc1975/eastbound.

as pat says depending on the TV and laptop,
the cheapest and easiest way is to buy a standard monitor cable and a audio cable, for those in Ireland, Powercity do a monitor cable for about 6 or 7 euros and a standard male to male audio cable is 1.50.
Once the cable is connected to the TV from the laptop, you may have to hit your AV button to find the PC option (again, depends on the TV) on the laptop, you will find the FN and on the buttons across the top (you will find the button that has a monitor . screen on it) usually F5 or F7, again depends on the laptop, once pressed, the laptop screen should be visiable on the TV, using the audo cable, connect the laptop to your home cinema or TV, the sound and pic will now be on the TV,
In your settings (right click on the desktop and properties) go to Settings and you will be able to change the display properties, dont set it to high or your TV wont be able to pick up the picture, again all this is based on your laptop and TV, you can change the settings to suit the TV, the more up to date TVs such as LCD and plasma work using this method

Thats the one, its for plugging yer lappy into a monitor, the cable above will do the trick
