Dear jim_dandy
Thank you very much for your speedy reply, but I have somemore questions:
1. How do I remove the area code from the backup DVD so as to see it in different DVD players
2. after ripping to the hard disk how can I put the media back onto the blank DVD... and does Nero startsmart software could do this.
I will be very pleased if you helped me.

hi sayedamr
I dont have a answer to your first question, but ill answer your second question,(answer to question 1 i believe dvd shrink will do that tho, im not sure) and bump your thread back up to the top of the stack.
Choose nero burning rom and have a look at this guide: http://www.dvdshrink.info/nero-video.php easy as falling off a log.
good luck

Hi guys,
Shrink can make the movie region free, a screen will come up during the process and say something like "This DVD appears to be RCE protected!" and then it asks if you would like to make it region free. Just check the appropriate box.
I opened Smartstart, selected DVD from the CD/DVD tab and then selected "Copy & Backup" from the choices at the top of the window. Then I selected "Copy entire DVD-Video" from the choices on the left. Recode 2 opened. Next, I clicked on "Import DVD". The browser opened so I used it to find the VIDEO_TS folder for some movie I had on my HD. Recode encoded the movie and was ready to burn it. Really easy.
BTW, the movie was originaly ripped with Shrink. (files from Decrypter would have worked as Recode can compress)
I've got the full version of Nero 6, so all the features are avalible. Some folks install the Nero that comes with their burner or have a demoversion. These may not have all the features. Just try yours and see.

Here's what you need to do I've been burning dvds for about 8 months, after copying it the movie to your hard drive, then you need to compress the movie using DVD2One after you compress the movie you can then burn it with Nero......hope this helps

dear all
thank you very much for your replys, I already succeded to burn my first DVDs using DVD Shrink 3.1 and here is some observations:
1. The software can remove the area code very easily from the tab backup.
2. The software put temporary files on the hard disk.. can I remove these files even if I will burn the same project again.
3. If the DVDs size is huge, is there any links than can guide the newbies what file could be removed from each DVD title.
4. I have LG DVD rom and it till me that I have only 5 times to change my area codes ... is there any way to reset this because I already used 3 of the 5.

You can flash your DVD Drive with RPC1 firmware & then it'll be back to 5 (and it will not change from 5 either).
Search for your particular drive f/w here: http://forum.rpc1.com/
