I am noticing now that we have moved to a large house with a bigger TV that we need to stand farther back from it to be able to play, but that we are constantly losing the wiimote signal after 8 - 9 feet. We need to be at about 11 feet away. I have done a search for Wii Range Extender and see one on Amazon from Nyko that is supposed to be 25 feet. I dont see any others on the market besides that one.

Has anyone tried any others that you can recommend?

Thanks,

dave

When I had my wii at my mom's house in the TV room there were many reflective surfaces in the room and I had similar problems. I couldnt go past about 6 feet or the reflections would make the pointer bounce all over the screen.

Since moving out I have my apartment and there are few reflective surfaces in the room and I can easily use the wiimote from 15 feet or more.

Interesting. Never would have thought of that.

I went ahead and ordered the Nyko. I will post and let everyone know if it works.

Cheers,

There are two factors in play here. One is the infrared sensor for positioning, and the second is bluetooth for button control and positioning feedback.

If the wiimotes are disconnecting, it's the bluetooth. If the position is jumpy or off, it could be the blutooth but more likely the infrared.

I see the range extender helping the bluetooth but not the infrared.
