flashing lite on with CK3 no probe, help

all searches are filled with results of how to flash the lite on with the ck3 pro, and lite, but with a probe.

i'm trying to take the cheap way in this and just purchase the ck3 lite(w/o probe). the solder method.

i just want a confirmation. once i have the ck3 lite, to read the key of a 7 series lite on, i will need to solder the r707 spot, am i right

If you wanna do it cheap, you wont even need the connectivity kit. Just use your xbox to power the drive and build thr probe from the ultimate sticky (its not USB though)

Will only cost a couple of quid / bucks!

thanks for that, but im set on making a usb version. it seems a bit more simple. i found a site where the same guy i believe explains how he did it,just read it, he says he connected a probe to the rx conductor of a 3 wire cable. i cant figure out just yet which one it is on the usb cable
