i got a korean wii yesterday it had 4.0u firmware.
it also came with homebrew channel, usp loader channel, GC backuplauncher, 2 wii backup launcher channels ( gamma something & softchip or somthing like that...sorry cant remember)
i also got a 4gb sandick SD card. in the card there was some homebrew apps. one of these apps was preloader 0.28. i installed the preloader. next thing i know the wii boots to the preloader screen and when i try to start the system menu it says the system files are corrupted etc etc. the good thing is i still can acsess the HBC.

i researched on the net and i found that i can fix the problem by reinstalling the system menu files by using any riegon changer.
i tryed to install 3.2U firmware with that app but notheing changed.

can someone plz help me?

you have a korean wii with 4.0u firmware , you need to install the system menu for the korean wii thats atleast 4.0 any downgrading will brick your wii even further than it is. My question is why are you installing 3.2u firmware, looks like you dont know what the heck you are doing.

i installed the 3.2u firmware bcz that was in the SD card when i got it from the same shop. the shopkeeper said that the SD card contain some useful apps and that was one of them. so i trusted that guy and used the any reigon changer and installed the the formentioned firmware.

anyway after more research i found that wy wii originally came with a 3.5 firmware so i cannot downgrade to somtheing less then 3.5

that been said can anyone plz tell me whats the next step to fix my wii plz ?

Allot of shops will convert Korean systems to USA so I wouldn't worry about it being USA firmware.

Your issue is you installed Preloader .28 on 4.0 firmware which is not compatible.

You will need to install Preloader .29 instead.

So download this file HERE and extarct it to your SD card. It should ask to overwrite choose yes (Make sure you overwrite the files or go to the SD card and delete the hacks.ini file and preloader folder that is located in the apps folder before extracting this file to the SD card).

Now put in the SD card and boot into Preloader again. Now launch the Homebrew Channel. Then install Preloader .29 (the icon will look the same but it is Preloader .29 not .28).

After it installs you should get your system menu back.
