Hi folks,

I recently bought a PC for myself along with a CD Writer. I experimented burning my first VCD as specified by Nero. Actually it was pretty straight forward and involved no rocket science there. The burn speed was kept at 32x and the software hooted that the VCD burning was successful. The magic starts now!

I try to play-back the VCD on my PC (actually the AVSEQ01 file) and what I find is that
1. The disk goes in an infinite rotate state.
2. On exploring the VCD contents it shows me 2.5 MB in the root directory and 560 MB (size of the AVSEQ01 file) in the MPEGAV folder.

Facts:
The mpeg file that I want burnt as a VCD plays fine
1. On the original VCD that has it.
2. On my hard disk after i copy it from the original VCD.

I thought I had burnt the VCD at a high rate and resort to a lower burn rate. Outcome - VCD clone of the first!!

I certainly am goofing this activity in some sense. Any clue on what I am, aa a newbie, missing on?

System details:
P4 2.4 Mhz (Intel)
256 MB RAM
LG CD Writer 53-32-52x

I suppose I have INCD too... never tried what that was. I however read on your forum that INCD can be dumped for Nero for some obvious reasons of cross compatibility.

Your Advise awaited.

If it plays fine on your HD, there's nothing wrong with the file.

Perhaps it's your media? Or there's something seriously wrong with your burner. There should be no problems.

I'm assuming you're using CD-CD copy?

Perhaps try using "Create VCD" in Nero and drag over the AVSEQ01 file (renamed to .mpg first, of course). You might have a better result that way.
