Did your Wii system used to play discs prior to backing up the NAND with bootmii? If so, I suggest you restore with RestoreMii first before exploring other avenues.

I know in my guide I tell you to make a backup of your NAND before doing the rest of the softmod. If this is the case restore the NAND backup to your system (if you did the NAND backup after doing the full softmod guide then let me know).

After restoring the NAND, check to see if the drive will play retail disc.

If it does then try performing the guide again and do not miss a step.

If it still doesn't play retail games and you want to send it in to Nintendo then run the hackmii installer again and uninstall Bootmii, DVDx (if you installed it) then the Homebrew Channel.

You should then be back to normal state so you can send it in.

Keep in mind more then likely Nintendo will probably send you a system with 4.2 firmware and at this time there is no way to mod a virgin 4.2 firmware system.

You might want to think about buying a different DVD drive instead of sending it in.

Thank for the replay it turn out to be jammed mechanical part causing the problem, after trying to insert dvd 2 to 3 time no with no luck, than decided to threaten it with a hammer it working fine now.
one more thing is dvdx installed Automatically as part of hackmii installer or you have to install it manually?, there no reference in the guide about dvdx that you need to install.

larrylje, I want to restore my Wii and wipe out all of the mods but I ended up doing a NAND backup after I did the full softmod. Is there anything I can do to wipe everything back to factory state?

The first thing that comes to mind is to update to System Menu 4.2. The latter contains several patches that remove known exploits both hardware and software. The HBC is also removed by this update. However, the update has potential side effects as some Wii consoles (modified and factory) are getting bricked by the patch.
