Hi guys, so I just wanted to know if playing original xbox 360 games on my flashed ixtreme 1.6 console would result in a ban?

I have the original game disks for most of my games and I love halo 3 so I just need to know if its safe! Thanks

having a flashed console will lead to a banning. end of discussion. now if only this stupid question would never appear again, i would be in heaven.

because the console still stores all the info from your burnt games, and sends that to MS when you logon (at least i believe that theory). so playing legit store bought copies in effect does you absolutely no good when you are still playing burnt games.

I would guess uhhhhhhhhhhhh... the flashing for the xbox console would get you banned. Does not matter if its original, 360, burned, or anything else.... you took the chance when you got a flashed console. But, no, it does not increase the risk because its an original game.

I'm at a bit of a loss on this one... Or am a little confused.

Legally i dont think M$ can ban you for simply modifying your console. At the end of the day it is your property and can do with it as you see fit. But as Wabashman does state, that the 360 saves details on all media that has been run from your console. It is the playing of Burnt media that can get you banned, not simply flashing your box. Which leads to an important point, why would you flash your box and not run burnt media....? Touche!

They can ban you because its their service and you have to abide by their terms. There terms clearly state that they can ban you from live if they see fit, i.e. modified xbox is a reason for them to ban you.

You are right modifying is complete legal and you can do with your property what you wish. However another dispute comes into play here as well seing as how the code is a modified version of microsoft owned/signed code. This falls in the region of intellectual property, since M$ developed this code it belongs to them and can not be reused or tampered with.
