can't get my advance faetures on platinum to work

This is my first post and I haven't seen anything in the forums about the features not working with xcopy Platinum. I have been trying to copy Castaway by splitting it onto 2 discs. I am not able to figure out how to do this because I am not able to use the faeture that let's me put a certain title set onto which disk. I can see the buttons for disk 1 and disk 2 but they are not active. I have successfully gotten the 1st half of the movie on one disk but it won't give me the option to put anything on a 2nd disk. Any help would be appreciated.
