4 posts later and I still have no answer. When I get home I will DL an AIM and get a name. If you are serious about giving a guy a hand then I will post the AIM name. I appreciate any help. At this time, I have not had any luck even with a lower version to get the soft mod working properly. (I know this is a tread about not being able to play other region backups after upgrade) That is probably how I got roped into upgrading to the 4.2U ver on wii. I want to softmod to make backups easier by going to the attached HDD and to eminimate the stupid DVD that get scratched by my kids. NOw its a scramble to undo what I have done to sort it all out and get the wii working properly again and then get it soft modded so I can do what I want with it.

Just because 1 person might have an issue with the information you give doesn't mean the next person will have problems.

I do get tired of repetitive questions being asked over and over again. In that case I will tell them to do a search.

But 4.2 firmware has been out a week so how can this issue be repetitive? There are multiple users that have replied to this thread wanting an answer and the easy route would be giving them the solution by posting it in public not forcing them to e-mail you about it.

After you give the information and more people still ask in other threads then tell them to search since you have already given the solution.

If you want it softmoded then go HERE and follow this guide.

Drakoniss is right. I just talked to him via AIM and he promises to fix your system for a "drink" I am sure if you contact him he will be glad to help you. I aon the other hand am still playing back ups even though my regions are limited. I do agree with him that somewhere along the line all the people that are doing the grunt work should be compensated with more than just words. THey do a lot of work for free. These guys and girls are wonderful and very intelligent. I prefer the offer a donation after my problem is fixed and not being told to donate first. I wish him luck and I wish my self luck on finding it for free with a potential donation on the rise.

More then likley he got his information for free so why not return the favor and give it for free. If anyone pays for softmoding information well they pretty much got riped off.

That could be true. But take a guy like wakonis, sorry if I spelled it incorrectly, All his work for pride and show. He said it is not for hte money it is to help others for a drink becasue he already is WELL OFF. Anyway, enough about him. Is still need help and have issues. So lets go. I need the proper information.
Oh yeah, This is a forum where people come to calaborate to assist others in need. If this was a store, the information would be on a disc down an isle.

Larry thanks for the link but it did not work. The last part anyway. Everyting installed occording to plan until we got toeh install NeoGamma and the USBLoader. Even with those not working, I have tried the Geckos19 that was donwloaded from the home browser channel and it just goes black screen when I load it. I don't know what else to try.

To continue my efforts I finally got a game to work using the softmod and it was a PAL game. Gecko has released a new version as of today oct 8 2009. http://wiinewz.com/forums/attachments/ni...3-gecko192b.zip That is Gecko192b.zip Running it on the HBC and fored the NTSC got the PAL game to play. My wii is on version 4.2U also hard modded with the wiikey2. I still hope wiikey team has enough heart to update there chip. I hope this helps. Oh yeah, chears on the drink you all will buy me now since I found the answer. HAHAHA This is what the forums are about.
