I do know it wont hold 4.9 but with 200 megs to spare anybody know where a post is about this subject

I've never heard of a 4.9 disc.

keep in mind that 4.7GB means 4.7 billion bytes, and there are 1048576 bytes in 1GB not 1,000,000

A 4.7 DVD-R actually holds 4.377GB
