So basically I was working on flashing my lite-on 74850c. Built a probe, but decided to hook the blaster 360 ne i had first and got all that hooked up. Plugged in the ODD exchange cable that comes with it to the drive and the sata from the drive to the usb adapter I got (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270332813192&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT). Got everything ready then powered on the 360 and went to the computer to check the device list and all that, and suddenly realized it wasnt on. Then saw the light red on the power brick and disconnected it. Tried everything; left unplugged, tried different outlets w/ and w/o power strip, chedcked all connection, etc. Nothing. Even tried w/ and w/o the dvd drive connected(btw I immediately took off all blaster parts and put origial cables back)...
Searching around I realized theres a difference when the light is red right away when you plug it in to outlet, turns red when plugged into 360, and when its yellow until the power button is pressed. Cant find any concrete solutions or even explanations as to why the difference is and what could be wrong with the system.
From what ive read I doubt another brick will change anything, but will try as soon as possible. Im sure it HAS to mean someting that it doesnt turn red til I press the power button. I fear I bricked the drive but I really need to know, im dying with out my 360 lol.
i read on another forum (soz bout that) that powering the board with no DVD attached can lead to a ban?????? seems strange i know but i thought i better mention it.
ya read that too but i have the ethernet disconnected from it anyways so its fine. but ya already tried that couple days ago and did a retest now and its still the same thing with the drive connected or not. gonna try another brick hopefully this weekend but i seriously doubt itll be any different otherwise the bricks red light would turn on as soon as its plugged into the outlet right?
I was trying to get everything off the board to test just that, but dont have a small enough bit to get the heat sinks off. Got the fans off though so pretty much its just the mobo and heatsinks and still same problem with the brick. Means it must be the mobo in some way... Please someone give me some info on this im going crazy tryin to figure this out not to mention without my brand new 360. I really need to know what to replace soon.
soz guesswho, i wasn't trying to put the fear up anyone but i would of felt guilty if i'd a said nowt and the xbox was run with no DVD then banned when he got the power issue sorted.
but from now on my mouth is well and truely hushed on that subject
