Hi I have just obtained a "backup" its 6.44GB so looks as though it contains the full game. However when I open the file I have 70 numbered R files that all look as though they could be unzipped. There is also a file at the bottom, a RAR file which is larger than the other files mentioned. Does anyone know how I can turn them into .iso and .dvd files.

Also to save me clogging the forum with more questions could anyone give me advice as to whether there are any Dual Layer writers or disc brands I should avoid before I go out and buy one?

Responses will be greatly appreciated

The .rar should contain the DVD and ISO image. And i think everyone on here will tell you to get the verbatim DVD+r DL discs as they are the best quality.

You dont need to select all the files .Just unrar the single rar file.and u would a dvd and iso file.As far as dual layer writers buy a lite-on or a pioneer Writer and not to mention Verbatim DVD +DL made in singapore are the best. Please follow the tutorials.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd2RByxr374&feature=related

Ignore the above YouTube link. That tutorial tells you to purchase that BS Cookies program which is just a re-skinned ImgBurn. ImgBurn is free.

That tutorial is OK but for one you don't have to set the layer-break in ImgBurn- that's what the .dvd file is for. Second, 2.4X writing speed is more suitable since that's what the disc supports as noted in the info box.

Thanks for all the replies, I had seen a video on youtube saying get a pioneer writer and singapore verbatims but didnt know whether to trust him. I will though now.

Also I have been downloading my backups to my PC rather than a portable hard drive. Im doing this as when I tried burning Wii games from my portable they always failed, yet the same game and the same file would burn sucessfully if it was downloaded to the PC. Does the same apply for 360 games? Because if not Ill start storing them on the portable in future to save me having to use up 8GB a time and then having to delete them for good once burned.

Thanks again for the replies

For wii games I have been using cheap discs so maybe it is that, but then again if this was the case then they shouldn't burn at all. As it stands though the games burn onto the cheap discs if they are stored on the PC but never when on the portable. I probably am doing something else wrong (all I do is patch it then drag it into IMGburn) but Ive never wanted to change it as they usually burn succesfully. The next 360 game I get Ill save it to the portable and see if it burns sucessfully.

In regard to the comment made by GTA2787, are Pioneer and Lite-on the only writers worth buying? Im struggling finding Pioneer writers, only one I can find on ebay is a used one.
