I have been using a samsung kreon drive (TSST corp DVD-ROM SH-D162D SB00 kreon 1.00) to backup games using UXrip360 and imgburn no probs. XBC also works fine. I am running them on ubuntu linux under wine, so work the same as they would on windows. (except UXrip 360 which is a native linux ap)
However I tried to backup my copies of red faction guerilla and batman arkham asylum and they do not rip. Usually whan I put any other game in my kreon drive it shows up as XGD2DVD_NTSC. But these two games just show up as a normal dvd.
When I try to rip Uxrip I get this

It creates a 151mb iso where the game iso should be.
I tried to use xbx instead, but the unlock drive and start and cancel buttons are greyed out.
I am wondering if maybe I need to upgrade the firmware on my kreon? Seems odd though as I only just bought it ( I would hope that the seller put the latest firmware on) and Halo wars ripped fine, and that is a new game as well.
hm... I'm not sure the compatibilit of them running under linux even in wine since that doesn't have 100% compatibility.
On any other games, is xbc grayed out also?
i am using the same drive but on windows xp home edtion with serivce pack 2 only as service pack 3 was a bit crap .. i dont have any probelms with them games . i just copy need for speed shift and fifa 2010 both retail copys from blockbusters lol . i know it says in the read me part that you cant do a back up off a back up but you can and there work as i backed up all my games before i got a d162d drive with my pioneer 116d dvr drive .. the lastest version on xbins is v1.0 kreon anyway . all i can say is get a copy off windows and do a dual boot pc and use windows to copy games with the drive hope that helps
